Festivals and Events in The Colony

Come spring, summer, fall or winter, The Colony is celebrating the season with wonderful food, music, arts and entertainment. All festivals and events in The Colony are geared toward the whole family and many are FREE! Mark your calendars now and plan on attending some of the greatest and unique events in North Texas. 


Spring Eggstravaganza

Date: Thursday, April 17

Time: 6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m.

Location: The Colony Five Star Complex

Cost: $3 per child in advance; $5 per child on event day

One of the most EGGciting events in The Colony is back for the 9th year in a row. Watch your kids have a ball as they gather eggs filled with an assortment of candy and prizes. Peter Rabbit is hoppin’ into town too – get your photo taken with him as a keepsake and plant a flower to take home and watch bloom. Jammin' in the Park (A Hard Nights Day)

The Colony City Manager’s Arts Committee (CMAC) presents, “Jammin' in the Park!” From March through May, the CMAC will host this family friendly event each month at Lion's Club Park.  Invite your family, friends and neighbors and bring your lawn chairs, blankets and picnic baskets and settle in for a memorable and relaxing evening of entertainment. Movies in the Park (Despicable Me 2)

An evening of family fun, exclusively for moms and sons! Bring your towel and swim suit and get ready to splash into summer with an action-packed evening of games and activities. Best of the Bands

If you’re part of a local or area band and looking for an opportunity to share your music, join us for the Best of the Bands competition, the ultimate band showdown. The winning band will perform as the opening act at the Liberty by the Lake festival which hosts more than 15,000 attendees Friday, July 4th. Liberty 5K 10K & 1 Mile Fun Run

Start your holiday off on the right foot at the 29th annual Liberty 5K 10K & 1 Mile Fun Run. This family event welcomes runners and walkers of all abilities! Liberty By The Lake

This signature Independence Day tradition includes live music, parade, children’s activities, business vendors, fun run/walk, salsa shootout and a fireworks finale that rivals any in North Texas. Back 2 School Bash

Calling all dog lovers! This one-of-a-kind event is returning for another great year at Hawaiian Falls Waterpark. Dive in with your best canine friend and enjoy doggie swims, contests, games, and prizes. A portion of the proceeds will benefit The Colony Animal Shelter Injured Animal Fund. American Heroes: A Salute to Veterans Festival & Fireworks

Holiday in the Park | Parade of Lights | Baking Contest

This annual event, presented by The Colony Parks and Recreation Department, will make its way through town with a bang. All-day activities include: pictures with Santa from noon to 2 p.m. at The Colony Public Library, 6800 Main St. ($2 per photo); Parade of Lights at 5:45 p.m. (route begins at Peters Colony Elementary parking lot and proceeds west on Nash to Blair Oaks and then south to The Five Star Complex); Holiday In The Park at 6 p.m. at Perryman Park, 4930 S. Colony Blvd. Holiday in the Park will feature festive holiday music and performances, a holiday craft station and a holiday baking contest. The Colony Christmas Spectacular
